Spring is in the air…

…and as I write this, I am reflecting on the remarkable journey the world has gone through and what we have witnessed firsthand over the past twelve months. The world started down an unchartered path not knowing where COVID-19 would take us. The US first detected case was in a care facility not far from our offices in Bellevue, Washington. Shortly thereafter the US started lockdowns in California and Washington followed by many other states.

When that happened, we witnessed the fastest drawdown in market history and subsequently sent our first client email. Our guidance was to stay the course, today the story is the same, the Fed is still responding with fiscal stimulus.

This past year has seen anxiety levels rise throughout our country. Many have missed birthdays, or like me, have lost loved ones. As I write this nearly 14% of the US population has received both shots for COVID19. As an optimistic person, I find this encouraging. The coming months will see many more who desire to be vaccinated receive their shots. We hope such steps will usher in a brighter future not just for America but the world.

Spring also means tax season, which is in full swing, albeit a month extension by the IRS the deadline will come much too quickly! We will continue to liaise with your accountants, nurturing these vital business relationships to serve our clients. As we are not tax experts, we will always recommend following the guidance of your accountant. Reach out to us if you need any help tracking down information. 

As I reflect on the past twelve months, I think of all the wonderful people we get to work with and the care and concern we all share. Be safe and to close, may the words of Tolstoy inspire you to grow this season:
